Ms. M. Hegarty (Third Class)
Last week we had great fun learning Ballaí Luimnigh for Seachtain na Gaeilge and taking part in the ceilí to enjoy some Irish dancing with our classmates!
This week we had a good time making 3D shapes using matchsticks. The children made cubes, cuboids, pyramids, and even octahedrons! They all got very creative with their colours and were excellent at helping each other.
This is just a sample of some of the wonderful artwork that has been created in Ms Hegarty’s class this September! The children have shown themselves to be creative artists and enjoy painting and drawing.
Ms. E. Wells (Third Class)
Our class had great fun this week! We went to see Matilda in the Solstice Arts Centre. We also had a fun day and pizza party!
We really enjoyed our school tour to The Crystal Maze! We also took part in the school marathon relay!
We also had great fun on sports day this year!
We have really enjoyed using the Plus Plus Boxes this year! We have created animals, numbers and flowers.
Mr. K. McCormack (Third Class)
Santa visited Mr. McCormack's boys and girls in 3rd class today and the excitement was palpable.
Mr. McCormack's class have been learning all about the famous landmarks of Meath.
"Mr. McCormack's 3rd Class have been learning all about Medieval times. They designed and created their own medieval towns in groups."
The children in Mr. McCormack's 3rd Class were busy drawing all the fun things that they did over the summer.
Ms. C. McManus (Fourth Class)
We've been busy doing summer art recently. We drew and painted these pictures of flip flops on a beach.
We created these beautiful cherry blossom tree paintings.
We had lots of fun for Seachtain na Gaeilge.
Congratulations to our winners of the class awards for February. Holly and Efosa won the awards for honesty. Liam won the award for looking after his books and belongings. Mia won the Gaeilgeoir award. Well done everyone!
We had great fun during Maidin Gaelach recently. We played lots of fun games.

We had the opportunity to take part in a karate lesson recently. We really enjoyed it!

We recently had our first assembly of the school year. Congratulations to the winners of the class awards. Harvey and Nevaeh won the awards for being a good friend to others. Izabella won the award for looking after her books and belongings. Daniel won the Gaeilgeoir award. Well done everyone!
We really enjoyed meeting some members of the STEAM Academy this month. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths. We got to use some small robots and they even introduced us to their robotic dog.
Ms. D. Carr (Fourth Class)
We had some students from Coláiste na Mí give a talk to our class about Cycle safety. The girls did a fantastic job and our class really enjoyed the workshop. Our class was busy building bridges during our STEM lesson. The boys and girls loved the opportunity to learn sign language with Aoife and they really enjoyed the lesson. Congratulations to our award winners, Rebecca, Alyissia, Marinella and Augusto - well done!
December was filled with lots of fun activities. The children crafted woolly hats and made christmas ornaments. We also had some hot chocolate and special visitors in our classroom!
October & November
The children were thrilled to take part in a karate lesson, they had great fun!
The boys and girls performed ‘Jingle Bells’ on their tin whistles at the school assembly. They did an amazing performance and should be very proud of themselves!
Congratulations to Zach, Blake, Mia & Zoe, they all won awards at the assembly - well done!

October & November
We learned all about Ancient Rome in our history lessons. The children worked together in groups to create projects and presented them to the class. They did a fantastic job - well done to all!

The children really enjoyed learning how to play and participating in handball games during our PE lessons.
Julia played a few songs for our class on her accordion. She is very talented and played wonderfully!
The boys and girls had great fun during the dancing lesson!
We had a visitor from An Garda Síochána to speak with our class about being safe at Halloween.
The boys and girls always look forward to working with our 1st Class buddy class. We are teaching them to program their own interactive stories using Scratch Jr.
We have four fantastic Irish dancers in our class; Rebecca, Katie, Mia & Osahenomanse – they all regularly compete at many competitions and win lots of awards. Well done girls!!
September

During September, we celebrated friendship week. The class enjoyed their class walk together and 'Feel Free Friday.'
We want to wish Samad the best of luck in his new school. He will be missed by all his classmates.

Mr. L. Sheridan (Fourth Class)
February: 4th class did lots of designing and making this February. In SESE, we used rocks and other materials to make our own water filters. We also used pipe cleaners to make St. Brigid’s crosses and other structures.
January:
We had a very busy start to 2025 in 4th Class! We had some very long rallies in badminton! We also played lots of games as part of our “Maidin Gaelach.”
December 4th Class got into the holiday spirit this December by crafting some miniature woolly hats and constructing ornaments out of salt dough. We also had a very special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
November
During November, we read “Kensuke’s Kingdom.” We used clay to create our own versions of the “Peggy Sue” and tea-stained paper to recreate “Michael’s Log.” We also had a fun-filled visit from Savage Martial Arts and took a lovely class photo for the school calendar.
October
We had some very spooky visitors to our classroom this October. We helped our buddies in first class with their projects on Mexico. We also used Book Creator to make projects of our own, all about our favourite animals.
We made a wonderful start to the year in Mr. Sheridan’s class. We explored the Scratch Jr coding app and painted some beautiful one point perspective trees. We also read about Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman in space, and made some parachutes out of string and tissue paper.

Christmas:
We have been doing lots of hard work this year, but we still made time for a very friendly visitor into our class this week!
Halloween:
We had a talk about staying safe at Halloween. We also had a great scavenger hunt organised by one of our dinosaurs!
September:
Mr Byrne’s class had a great time at our dance class. We have also been teaching first class how to code using Scratch.
